After almost two decades of living in Florida, I’ve lived through many hurricanes; I’m fascinated by them. Next one up is coming in strong and is perfect in formation, height (60,000 ft!), symetrical 10 mile wide eye that is bursting with lightning, 185 mph winds (with 220 mph bursts) and going at an excruciating speed of 8 mph (expected to drop to 4 mph when it hits us).
Tomorrow we meet Dorian.
Update: The storm battered the Bahamas, it was unique in that it traveled slow and stayed in one spot for days. My best wishes go to the people in Grand Bahama for a quick return to normalcy. The storm then moved north-west, hitting north Florida.
