Back to WordPress…

So I may be blaming unfinished software for my own procrastination. But in the end, I wasn’t blogging anymore. I missed TrackBacks and Typo just didn’t have them. So I gave MoveableType a go, the install was easy, but customizations where not. It’s mostly because MT is so vast. I just want to keep it simple and do my own thing… As a final move I went back to WordPress, and it’s looking up. The import was a piece of cake and they have done a good job in the AJAXification of the application. I’m liking the move so far! You’ll be seeing more of me now (hopefully!)

Backtracking on Typo

Inbound and outbound trackbacks are supposed to be working on Typo. And from what I’ve seen, Inbound trackbacks don’t seem to have any issues. However, from the online admin I can’t even find a way to put in Outbound trackbacks! On a post in the Typo mailing list, someone said that using a third party Blog poster/editor (like the one I’m using: w.bloggar) you are able to submit those Ping/Trackback links. I ran a test and it does seem to work, but I still think it’s kind of foo bar.

Also, I just saw that in the Typo Wishlist that they do mention “Make trackbacks work.” Very confusing. Enough dirt on Typo, I still like it quite a bit!

Not so polite tips from Bob Parsons

In the Era of Blogging Executives, we have Bob Parsons from Go Daddy (I wonder how that name got picked?!) also doing his own. I’m far from a fan, but found the Time Saving Tips post a good read. I can relate to a lot of the stuff mentioned, specially when it comes to the phone calls part.

What is interesting as well is the feedback given by the readers, most in outrage about the rudeness of it all. I guess you have to balance everything, but the point is good on saving time.
